Owner Fermin Mercado started on the shop floor and worked his way up to running the business. That hands-on background shows in every project — and in how the team treats your home.
Rock Hard Granite has been fabricating and installing countertops in the Tri-Cities since 2012. What started as a small operation has grown into a team of about 10 people — led by an owner who came up through the shop and still works alongside his crew.
We’re licensed in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, and we’ve completed projects from Kennewick to Seattle and beyond. But the Tri-Cities is home, and most of our work is right here — for homeowners who want quality stone installed by people they can actually talk to.
Builders trust us enough to bring us onto their projects. Homeowners choose us even when a competitor quotes lower — because the experience matters as much as the finished product.
I had a fantastic experience with this granite installation service. Kendra was incredibly helpful and patient, especially considering how many times I changed my mind. She made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The installation crew went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule, even when I had a mix-up with my calendar. They really made it work. I highly recommend their services – great customer service, professionalism, and top-notch work!
I’m absolutely thrilled with the work Rock Hard Granite did on my kitchen quartz countertops. From start to finish, the process was seamless. The team was incredibly responsive and accommodating, even customizing the countertops to include built-in outlets. The installation was flawless, and the fit is perfect. The staff was friendly and professional throughout the entire project. I’m so impressed with the quality of the work and the timely manner in which it was completed. I highly recommend Rock Hard Granite to anyone looking for beautiful, high-quality countertops.
Best Granite shop in Tri-Cities! Had them do my bathroom vanity and accent pieces last year and was super pleased on how it came out. I recently got my kitchen done by them and WOW! Couldn't be happier. The island waterfall is gorgeous. Everything is well polished and smooth. The crew was respectful and nice. The manager, Fermin, was super helpful and made this kitchen project so much easier. Definitely recommend them if you're looking for good quality work.
The installation was an easy one, the guys were quick, professional, polite and worked great as a team. I had additional questions not pertaining to the installation they were there for and my questions were answered in great detail and gave me a few pointers and great information. I would definitely recommend these guys in heart beat!
Rock Hard Granite has done a couple jobs for me and have done a great job both times. They are very friendly from Kendra and Fermin all the way down the line to the installers. I will only use them for any counter top project I have in the future. Their quality is second to none. Thanks guys and keep doing what you do.

Absolutely. Our showroom is in Richland and we welcome walk-ins. Seeing stone in person is the best way to get a feel for color, pattern, and finish — and our team is on hand to answer questions.
Granite is a natural stone — every slab is unique in color and pattern. Quartz is engineered from natural stone and resin, offering more consistent patterns and colors. Both are durable and beautiful. Our team can help you decide which is the better fit for your project and budget.
Yes, we can remove your existing countertops as part of the installation process. In most cases, demolition is completed on the same day as installation, so you’re not without countertops for long.
Please note that removal is an additional service and is not included in our square foot pricing.
We will remove your old sink and install the new one. However, any plumbing or gas line disconnections or reconnections must be completed before we arrive. We also do not move or work on stoves or cooktops.
